The guidance office works with all students regarding scheduling, credit requirements, Regents, and other academic concerns. All New York State students must take a certain amount of Regents exams, and earn a certain amount of credit in order to graduate with a Regents diploma.

Mercedes Dalal graduated from Bronx Community College with an associates degree in psychology. Went on to City College of New York where she did her bachelors in Psychology and minored in photography. She later achieved her post graduate degree from Brooklyn College in School Guidance and Counseling. One interesting fact is that she worked in George Washington High School for 10 years as a guidance counselor which is also the school she graduated from.

11/12th grade guidance counselor
Betsabe Luna graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. During her senior year of college, Betsabe was accepted to be a Fulbright Scholar in Spain. She went on to live and teach English in Madrid, Spain for one year following her graduation. She later completed her Masters of Science in Education in School Counseling degree from Fordham University. In her free time, Betsabe enjoys going on adventures to faraway lands.

Director of College Counseling
Millicent Soto joins CollegeBound Initiative as the Director of College Counseling at the Heritage School in East Harlem New York. Millicent was a former Higher Education Opportunity Program Advisor for Mercy College. She obtained her undergraduate and graduate degree for the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2013 & 2015. Her graduate degree specializes Humanistic Multicultural Education and group processes. Millicent is also an alumna of the Educational Opportunity Program, (EOP).
